Please if you have a missing pet and would like our help call us at 360-775-5154. Calling us is the fastest way to get our volunteers helping you find your lost pet. We do not monitor our FB or this page 24/7.
Many of you know how heart-breaking it is when a family pet is lost. Pet Posse intends to be there for you the next time it occurs. Whomever answers will get a complete description of your pet, the area last seen, the name of the pet, and any special characteristics searchers should be aware of. We have a local veterinarian that will help for emergency care if a rescued pet is injured during their romp. Likewise we hope someone will volunteer who can provide foster care when a pet is found but the owner cannot be contacted immediately. We do not charge to help search for a missing pet, but we do ask for donations for most of our funding for the services provided. However we do have a finders fee/boarding charge if an animal is brought in to us, these are asked when the animal is released. These fees are vital to help cover the cost of caring for your pet during his/her stay with us.
Pet Posse is a 501©3 non-profit organization. Although we don't charge for our services, donations help us continue reuniting pets with their owners. Donations are used to cover costs incurred when an animal is brought to our facility and/or to help the next animal that is missing. Costs include, but are not limited to: housing of the pet in a clean/disinfected cage to prevent the spread of disease, food, water, walks with bathroom breaks, veterinary care (if needed), time to locate the owner, flea/tick treatments (if needed), foster care. We can help create flyers (but require the owner to pay for and pick up the flyers). We also put your pet's information out on social media so that more people are aware your pet is missing or found. We cannot do this for free. Please refer to owner's responsibilities under Animal Control codes 7.01.03
Our volunteers generously donate their time to assist pet owners with putting up flyers and searches. Our love for animals is what drives our organization. We also expect pet owners to participate in the search effort.
The Port Angeles Pet Posse was formed because of a need to help others find their missing pets. Pet Posse's founder had a pet go missing in 2014. There were many sightings of the pet, but it was difficult to catch him. Finally, after 2-1/2 months a concerned citizen was able to coax the pet into his yard and contact the owners.
If there is anyone in the community who is a grant writer, we could use assistance to apply for grants to support our services.
